Green Acres
🌿 A Hidden Gem on Long Island: Spending the Day at Green Acres
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I live for discovering hidden gems, supporting local spots, and finding fun things to do across Long Island. And as someone who loves fashion, holiday shopping, iced coffees, and walking around cute places… my recent visit to Green Acres was exactly the kind of adventure I love sharing with you.
Green Acres is going through a major glow-up — not just a renovation but a full reimagining of the entire center. They’re stepping away from the old “mall” concept and transforming into a modern, lifestyle-focused shopping destination… and honestly? They’re doing it right.
From fresh décor to new branding to exciting tenants, I left the day feeling so energized about what’s happening here.
☀️ First Stop: Fresh Juice & a Mural That Made Me Smile
When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was how bright and inviting the space felt. There’s a barricade that looks like a mural, featuring the new Green Acres logo and highlighting their sustainability initiative tied to the redevelopment. It’s eye-catching and sets the tone for the new direction they’re moving in.
I grabbed a fresh-squeezed juice in the food area — my perfect pre-shopping ritual. The food court has a great mix of healthy and indulgent options, making it an easy stop whether you’re on a solo shopping day, browsing with friends, or bringing the family.
🕯 White Barn Candle… aka My Happy Place
You know that moment when you spot one of your absolute favorite stores?
That was me when I saw White Barn Candle.
If you follow me, you already know:
✨ I light a White Barn candle every single night
✨ Their Christmas scents are unmatched
✨ I stock up the second the holiday line hits
So yes, winter candle season has officially begun in my apartment.
👟 Foot Locker: Brand-New & Better Than Ever
Next up was the brand-new Foot Locker, and I headed in immediately.
They have so many great styles, including:
Adidas (my #1 comfort shoe lately — they carried every color!)
UGGs for winter
Nike sweats and matching sets
Classic graphic tees
But the coolest part?
🦶 They have a foot-measuring machine that scans the length, width, and pressure points of your feet to help you find the perfect shoe. As someone who trains nonstop and walks miles every day, this was actually amazing. Every store needs one.
🍵 Snack Break: Kung Fu Tea (My New Treat Spot)
You know I can’t resist a little treat when I’m shopping.
At Kung Fu Tea I ordered:
A pumpkin latte (SO good)
A macaron (I mean… obviously)
Everything was delicious, and now I already want to go back for one of their holiday drinks.
🌿 What’s Coming Next: Redevelopment Already Underway
The redevelopment at Green Acres has already begun — and it’s BIG.
They’re in the process of transforming the center with a 400,000+ sq ft redevelopment, which will include:
✨ A brand-new 80,000 sq ft ShopRite
✨ Repurposed former department stores
✨ A new grand entrance
✨ Outward-facing shops + modern streetscapes
✨ New dining (quick-service + full-service)
✨ New entertainment and service businesses
Here are just a few of the exciting tenants coming soon:
Sephora
JD Sports
Shake Shack
Dave’s Hot Chicken
Tony’s Tacos
Panda Express
Paris Baguette
The Cheesecake Factory
Green Acres is seriously leveling up.
